Hilda/Zelda Cosplay Pattern

Description

As of recently I decided to start doing something I quite enjoy... figuring out patterns or random cosplays I either want to do or have done! :D It's not measurement specific because as sewists and cosplayers I find just having a general idea of the shape you need to make is super helpful enough! Let your mind work out the rest, I believe in you!! But just in case... I'll write out info on it below:

So you want to make a ballgown? First I hope you have plenty of fabric and a nice petticoat! One with rings preferred but all optional of course~ Let's start with...

TOP: Lining is your best friend in this. I sewed two exact pieces together with a hole to flip it on on of the sides. Did the same for the back! Don't forget some interfacing in the tapestry part to keep it straight and weighted down a bit! Then I sewed the sides together and threw a zipper in! I put it in the side~ Then I just sewed the darts to make it form fitted to me! (darts=triangles to pinch & sew)
((If you wanna know the pattern I used to paint the tabard visit: this image for an awesome digital one!))

SKIRT: Pretty much an A-lined skirt. For ease I measured the bottom hoop of my petticoat and added half of the total to it again so it would flow a little. (if your circumference of the bottom is 100 in I would add 50in to make 150 total) Then measure your waist.... and connect the dots! Skirt is in two parts so just sew the sides together :D

CAPE: I pleated the cape at the top a bit and measured how wide I wanted it to be when laying flat on my back to get the right feel. Velcroed it to the armor inside!

ARMOR: Made mine out of EVA foam and regular craft foam!

BELT: A rectangle folded in half and flipped inside out. Attached on the back with a velcro or snap!

My Pateron FAQ

**I am not a professional pattern maker! I cosplay and love puzzles. This is for reference  just to help people out! You can ask me more but I will not put measurements to patterns! That is reserved for my pateron supporters.
